Dads are important. Irreplaceable in fact.
This message might not be the popular one in our culture. Many families are living without Dads in the home for various reasons – divorce, death, remote jobs, or Dads who are there…but not really there. Our desire to believe that we can be okay without Dads has been pushed to where many believe you don’t need Dads.
Today, we want to honor Dads on FancyLittleThings and tell you, “We need you. You are important to our families. You are irreplaceable.”
May these quotes encourage all those men out there who are seeking to fulfill their duties as fathers. May you all know you are important and valued in our homes. May it point out the deep & divine purpose you alone carry in our families and call forth the courage to fulfill that purpose.
“It is much easier to become a father than to be one.” – Kent Nerburn, Letters to My Son
“A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.” – Billy Graham
“The great river of fathering that leaped from the primordial mist of Eden rolls through time and into eternity. How will you bend the course of the tributary that flows in your family? You will affect it, you know. Whether you work at it with all your heart and soul or close your eyes and ears and put your hands in your pockets and pretend it doesn’t exist, you will channel that river in one direction or another. That’s the nature of fathering. Whether you like it or not, whether you accept it or not, whether you believe it or not, your influence will span generations long after you’ve left this Earth.” – Stu Weber
“The greatest gift a man can give his children is to love their mother.” – Abraham Lincoln
“Today, we need to glorify Renaissance Dads – men who have become adept at fathering and providing a positive impact on others’ lives. These men act in ways that promote a positive view of masculinity and are active role models in the lives of all boys. Only by honoring this type of behavior will we create the desire for young men to follow in our footsteps.” – Rick Johnson, Better Dads, Better Sons
“If we would endeavor, like men of courage, to stand in the battle, surely we would feel the favorable assistance of God from Heaven. For he who giveth us occasion to fight, to the end we may get the victory, is ready to succor those that fight manfully, and do trust in his grace.” – Thomas Kempis
