When I moved from my small point and shoot camera to my first DSLR, I was scared! So many buttons and settings and lighting and PHEW- I was overwhelmed. That is a pretty big jump! But as soon as I heard the first click from my new camera, I was hooked! And I knew I had to do some research to learn it. Today, I am going to share some websites/articles that really, really helped me!
- This post from Kevin & Amanda is A MUST READ. It is a basic overview of your DSLR- and a great, great starting point if you are new to your camera. If you are looking for a place to start, here would be a great place!
- If you want to build on that first post, go here. This article outlines all of the functions on your DSLR and gives you some pointers on what you will get out of your photos when using those functions.
- If you are in the market for a new lens, look no further than this post by Sarah Ainsworth. This post has some amazing information AND photos of what the lens does, so you can decide simply by seeing what’s in the photos. I highly recommend it!
–I want to see your best PRACTICE photo. Get your camera out, play around with the settings, show me your best photo and your worst photo- or ALL of them if you want! BUT tell me what you learned as well! There will be a linky party for this that will go live in 2 weeks where you can link up your post/photo album/ etc– so that I can check it out! There MIGHT just be a prize involved for the winner! *hint, hint*
Mark your calendars for October 17th- then come show off your practice shots!
