Free Kindle Ebooks {November 2012}

In my Book Nook column last week,  I wrote about why I think owning a Kindle will save you a ton of money.  In response, I had quite a few people comment and ask how to find free Kindle e-books.  Every month, I scour the Kindle freebie lists and read through reviews to come up with a group of decent looking Christian fiction books that are currently free so you can stock up your Kindle without busting your budget.  November has been a great month for free Kindle books!  Check out my finds below.

Noble Cause: A Civil War Novel of Love and War by Jessica James is the recipient of numerous book awards and was a Finalist in the USA “Best Books 2011 Awards for Historical Fiction.”  Often compared to Gone with the Wind, Midwest Book Review called Noble Cause “a riveting piece of historical fiction.”  Noble Cause is the tale of Colonel Alexander Hunter, a dauntless and daring Confederate cavalry officer, who, with his band of intrepid outcasts, becomes a legend in the rolling hills of northern Virginia. Inspired by love of country and guided by a sense of duty and honor, Hunter must make a desperate choice when he discovers the woman he promised his dying brother he would protect is the Union spy he vowed to his men he would destroy.

Janette Oke fans will be happy to see that When Calls the Heart (Canadian West Book #1)is currently free! The following is a little teaser about the book: nothing in her cultured East Coast upbringing prepared Elizabeth for a teaching position on the Canadian frontier. Yet, despite the constant hardships, she loves the children in her care. Determined to do the best job she can and fighting to survive the harsh land, Elizabeth is surprised to find her heart softening towards a certain member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Book 1 of the bestselling Canadian West series.

Livvie’s Song (River of Hope)by Sharlene MacLaren tells the story of a young widow who opens her own diner, determined to pull through on her own. A Christian ex-convict is ready for a fresh start, and a job as cook. A recipe for romance develops.

Chop, Chop (Chop, Chop Series – Book 1) by L.N. Cronk is the first in a new series.  Ever since Laci was a little girl she’s been growing out her pretty, brown hair and chopping it off to send to Locks of Love. When Greg moves into town and finds out what she’s doing, he thinks it’s a great idea…so he starts doing it too! It’s just one of the things that reserved, young David must tolerate as their friendship grows throughout the years. As they near adulthood, they grow not only closer to each other, but closer to God as well. David finds himself content in every way, but when tragedy occurs David must struggle to find his way back to God.
