It’s a grand part of life. But let’s take a moment and dig more into real love. Not the greeting card epic woo factor type of love, but the type of love that doesn’t keep a record of wrongs, gives continual hope….love is what saves us.
We are called to love. And I’m not talking about the buying everyone in the world a box of chocolate and a dozen roses love. We are called to love as Christ loved the church. This means sacrificial, deep, with no holding back, to everyone on Earth. We can love each other in so many ways. But I feel as though we women, really need to focus on not only loving our bodies where they are, but helping those around us love theirs.
Body image is rough. It’s a dangerous cycle, spun into distortion by the world we live in. We are led to believe we must look ripped but still with some soft curves, have luxurious hair that doesn’t frizz, contain flyways, and always agrees with the curling iron, have the Disney princess porcelain skin having the perfect amount of pigment.
That makes me want to gag more than a cheesy Hallmark commercial.
My lovely ladies, those are all LIES. Deceitful lies which are fed into our brains to pull us away from Christ.
We must realize and spread the word that Christ makes ALL women, men, children beautiful. There are no flaws, imperfection, bad skin, muffin tops, dimply booties in His eye. He loves and adores every cellulite bump you have. He knows that every scar on your body demonstrate a triumph He put you through to shine for Him.
My challenge to you is be a light to other women. Be passionate, be real, be loving. We women share so much in common but we fear letting others see our struggle. Love women to the point of them seeing themselves as Christ sees them. Beautiful creations by a heavenly King who creates masterpieces not forgotten mishaps.
The verse below is the typical love your body verse, because it is true ladies! We are everything this verse says.
It’s time to love the creation we are.
It’s time to influence others to love the creations they are.
It’s time to stop the world from manipulating what real beauty is.
It’s time to love.
