I am not sure about you, but sometimes blooming seems like the farthest thing from possible. There seem like there are so many burdens, heartbreaks, and even failures that make it seem like this flower is simply not going to bloom. There are days when I feel like a seed that must have been buried fifty rocks deep and covered with a freeway! This little seed feels crushed and overcome!
How does a seed grow to a fancy little flower with so many challenges?
Honestly, I know I feel like this sometimes when the world comes crashing in and I’m going to bet that some of you ladies heard our “Burst into Bloom!” monthly theme and said, “yeah right.”
When we are the seed that is crushed, God has a message for our hearts, our tender and hurting hearts. He is making something beautiful by revealing his strength in our lives.
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies” (2 Corinthians 4:7-10 ESV).
If you are that seed that has been crushed and struck down, be amazed and watch God come alive in you. If you trust Him to be your strength, it doesn’t matter if you have an eight lane freeway paved over the seed of your life, God will prevail as your Lord and King. He put a treasure in you that cannot be taken away by the circumstances of this world and He is revealing his glory in your life. Don’t lose hope and don’t you dare say it’s impossible.
“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26b).
Are you going to hand your seed up to God for Him to make you come alive?
What amazing bloom are you going to be for God?
