It’s ironic that this month we’re reflecting on 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit…?
It’s ironic because I definitely don’t see my body as a temple right now. I see it as a chubbier version of what it used to be before a tiny human stretched it beyond what I thought was possible and now sometimes I eat my emotions and drink way too much coffee because that tiny human is a really early riser.
But oh how God loves us. So much so that he forgives us, gives us grace, wants to return us to glory, and calls us his beloved children.
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God.
And you know what else? He thinks we’re beautiful.
The stretch marks? Lovely.
The things that are saggy that weren’t saggy before? Wonderful.
Using a rubber bands to make my skinny jeans fit? A treasured testament to my new role as a mother.
You’re body, with all it’s flaws and imperfections, is perfectly beautiful because we were created in a perfect image.
