“do you not know that your bodies are temples of the holy spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from god? you are not your own; you were bought at a price. therefore honor god with your bodies.” 1 corinthians 6:19-20
since i’m all about being frugal and modest with my wardrobe, today we’re gonna talk about how one piece can carry you through many outfits.
come take a look!
if you were a child or teenager of the 80’s, i know you sported a jean jacket. and you get extra cool points if it was stone washed.
today, the jean jacket still has a very important place in our wardrobe without looking kelly from saved by the bell.
why you ask? as my mother once told me, “jeans are not blue. they are a neutral which means they go with everything.” so mom, if you’re reading this, you were right, as you always are!
this jean jacket from target a few years ago has been a staple in my closet because it really does go with everything. and the main thing i focus on when i shop is how to get the most out of each piece i purchase.
i ask myself these 3 questions when selecting an item:
1 // will it go with at least 3 other items in my closet?
2 // do i have shoes to wear with it?
3 // will it last beyond the trends?
a form fitting denim jacket will.
and below i will show you just how versatile it can be.
// this outfit
skirt: handmade by me
flip flops: payless
necklace: a very jane special last year
cute little dude: also made by me
my favorite part about this skirt (that used to be a dress) is the pockets.
the patterned tank has some of the bright blue of the pants and some dark blue that pulls the denim color in.
// this outfit
ruffled top: old navy last year
linen skirt: old navy last year
flip flops: payless ( i swear to you that i do wear other shoes) 🙂
and some examples of other ways to sport the denim for this season:
// with a long skirt
// with a long dress
// in a bold color
// with light pants
your homework: see how many ways you can wear your denim jacket…and get wild!
