Taylor here – I’m happy to announce the birth of my first child, a daughter named Adair Faye. She came on June 2nd, just short of four weeks early due to me being diagnosed with severe pre-eclampsia. We are both doing fine – praise God! When I thought about having a guest post-er, my friend Rheanna was the first person that came to mind. She is a fellow military spouse and often reviews Christian fiction and non-fiction books on her blog Cammo Style Love. Thank you Rheanna for stepping in with this great book review!
When strolling through the aisles of the book store, library, grocery store or anywhere where books might be found I will usually stop in my tracks when a uniform catches my eye. I’m kind of a sucker for them, truth be told. Throw in a sweet romance and I’m hooked all the way. Harlequin’s ‘Love Inspired’ series has quickly become a favorite for me to turn to when I need a little get away. They have gathered together some amazing Christian women to write for them.
Wallace comes home on a different sort of mission, to tell Savannah that her husband loved her. When he finally finds Savannah, and discovers that she is pregnant and telling a different story, their faith in everything in tested. He brings Savannah back to the Triple C ranch, where family secrets— and siblings he hadn’t known about—await him. Now, he will realize the faith he had as a child will be what he needs to get through along with Savannah.
As a military wife, the realities of the book hit me straight through to the core. Ms. Springer handled the story with grace and truthfulness. The character of Savannah has suffered a lot her life, now widowed and alone, she must cling to her faith and do what she needs to do to protect the life growing inside her.
The Soldier’s Newfound Family is part of a series revolving around the lives of two sets of twins, separated at birth. While some of the background story had me curious at times, wondering how that could possibly happen; the seemingly outlandish back story to the series didn’t seem to affect this book’s little corner of the world. The backdrop of the Texas ranch, the small town and its people created the perfect surroundings for this sweet romance; and a place where faith grows and flourishes.
Rheanna is the Stay-home-mom of three, ages 6, 4 and 2. When not running around with one of the kids you will find her with her nose in a book, watching a black & white movie and drinking Dr. Pepper. Sitting beneath her degree in Criminal Justice she blogs her way through her life married to Mr. Air Force and as the mom of three crazy kids. Come hang out with her at her blog Cammo Style Love.
