I have had some major writer’s block for a few weeks/months/since October when my son was born. I have a list a mile long with blog ideas, but I rarely have time these days, and when I do have time, the words just don’t come.
So this morning, I’m settling in with my cup of coffee, baby at my feet, to talk about words.
Words are powerful, y’all. They are little things that can do big things.
But like most things that pack such a big punch, they can be used for good and not-so-good.
So let me ask — how are you using your words? In our lives, the Lord gives us such amazing platforms for using our words to bring Him glory.
In speaking to our children and husbands.
In talking with strangers.
Sharing with friends and family.
Posting on our blogs.
And speaking to ourselves.
“Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” Ephesians 4:29
Lately I’ve been grumpy and I know that the words coming out of my mouth are not glorifying God. They’re not really doing much of anything expect bringing my family down and perpetuating the grumpy. I pray that the Lord will free me from those bitter words and fill me with words of joy, truth, humor, and grace.
When we speak to our children, our spouses, through our blogs, ourselves, wherever, let’s pray that the Lord gives us good words, words of encouragement, words of faithfulness.
We women have a lot to say! Let’s use them for building others up, y’all (I moved to the south last year so I can totally use that word).
