“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
I believe that God gives you what you really want when you are persistent in asking, praying and seeking what you desire. I feel that my husband was delivered to me after a long period of me asking God for a man who would always treat me right, love me in an uplifting and positive way, and a person who wants to create a family together as my partner. We have been married for three years this week and I have had to learn a lot about relationships and the work it takes to keep them. I can’t say that I’ve been a good wife (heck, I’m still figuring out how to be a wife) but I know that I want to be his wife and only his wife. My husband, Pierce, is walking a strong and firm faith walk and that is what I’m sharing with you today.
Over the last year many small events happened that were big negative emotional issues at work. Oh, yes we were both working at the same high school within the same department! After hard evidence was delivered to both of us, he knew it was time for his faith walk.
His journey started many years ago when he starting asking God to let him use his talents to help people and now he owns and operates his own business. (Firefly Event Photography and Entertainment) Firefly is a business designed to work with schools to positively affect thousands of young people by giving all students a professional image from their event. I have been at events and the excitement and thankfulness that kids have over getting a professional photo is truly amazing!
So, I call it a faith walk because I’ve seen the progression and the constant nearly relentless pursuit of one man to make a difference and do what he wants in life. This is not easy or quick and he is still waiting for God to deliver as he knocks and knocks on that door.
I am so proud of my husband even if the journey has only begun and I have started to learn from him and his walk. Change is big and powerful and fear and loneliness will test you and your journey. My husband always says one step a day will lead to 352 steps in one year. Think about how much you can move ahead in just one year with only one step a day!
I pray that God can help me discover what I want and how my talent and ability can be used to help others.
What do you ask, seek and knock for?
be fit, have fun
