Earlier this month, I attended the Hearts at Home National Conference. Hearts at Home has been around for 20 years, and is a conference that seeks to refresh and equip mothers of all ages with workshops and keynote speakers.
It is always an incredible experience, being in an auditorium with almost 5,000 other moms, worshipping and learning together. I always leave refreshed and armed in the Word to be a better wife and mom.
Three years ago, when I attended for the first time, one of the keynote speakers was Jennifer Rothschild. In case you have never heard of her, she is a Christian author and speaker who at the age of 15, lost her eyesight. She is very inspirational and her books are incredible reads. That day, as she was speaking about her blindness and how that affected her life, she said something very powerful that I have yet to forget.
My perspective on this is to celebrate the ordinary, live with intention, and just because times are tough, don’t let that stray your relationship with the Lord. Just because your circumstances are not going the way you want, or you are dealing with a tough season of life doesn’t mean that your soul can’t delight in Jesus.
