Hey there friends!
If you have spent any time in the kitchen, you know that recipe fails are inevitable. Sometimes your ingredients are no good, and sometimes a recipe just doesn’t come together. It’s part of the process.
Well, we had a pretty epic fail ourselves recently.
I’ve been trying to stock our fridge and freezer with quick meals as we get closer to baby day. I thought that homemade mini corn dogs would be a great grab and heat lunch. Can’t be too hard, right? Some corn bread mix and some hot dogs should do the trick.
We popped them into the oven and everything looked great!
And then we tried to take them out of the pan (yes, I greased it!)…
Every. Single. One of them fell apart. Sad day.
But you know what? This afternoon was still a win!
Did we work together in the kitchen? Yep.
Did we work on some great skills? Absolutely.
Did we learn that sometimes things just don’t work? We sure did.
And let me tell you, as a mama to one of the biggest perfectionists I know, this is a lesson that we can’t learn often enough! Mistakes happen, things fall apart, but that doesn’t mean that we’ve failed, or that the time we spent doing them was wasted.
Can you imagine if God stopped working on us every time we fell apart? Yikes. I’m so glad he gets back in the kitchen every time!
Still hungry for mini corn dogs? Kimberly over at A Night Owl Blog got hers to work! Go on over and check them out!
