I’m just returning from a week’s vacation with my family. We had a great time in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of New York. We enjoyed beach, boating, hiking, water parks, even a family fiesta (yes, our family parties always need a theme). And aren’t our DIY bleach pen t-shirts just the cutest?!
And there is one part that I love about vacations. Something I always forget about.
The pleasure of returning home. Walking through your own back door and realizing how much you missed it.
This month at FLT, we are celebrating home. The treasures of home.
There are the material treasures…the heirlooms, the keepsakes, the thrifty finds.
There are the priceless treasures…family, friends, laughter, tears.
And of course, we are each storing up treasures in our Heavenly homes. Like my friend likes to remind me when I call her after a hard day of mothering, “Remember the eternal rewards.”
“By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.”
Proverbs 24:3
The break from home and its routines has me newly grateful for home and its routines. Even with the pile of laundry that reaches to my basement ceiling.
Do you need to look at {home} with fresh eyes? What do you count as your treasures? Share with us as we share with you!
