The enemy of busyness struck again. I didn’t start the week off very well. Although I read the daily challenges for Friday and Saturday, I can’t say I did much with them. I could have just skipped mentioning those days to you all, but it reminded me of something that the Lord has been teaching me a lot about – priorities. That is why prioritizing our marriage will be my theme for the month of June!
Perhaps the most fun challenge to date would be yesterday’s. It caught me in just the right mood. “I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me.” Song of Solomon 7:10 Keeping our energy up for intimacy with our husbands can really be a challenge. It is hard in a life full of raising 3 boys under age 5, prenatal visits to ready for baby #4, laundry, ministry work, projects, playdates, cleaning, laundry, phone calls, meal planning, shopping, (did I say laundry?)….to keep our husbands and our marriage on the top of the priority list.
I embraced this challenge yesterday, and with the help of an afternoon at Grammie’s (which allowed me to reclaim our bedroom from the totes of clothes created by the winter-summer wardrobe switch), a late day, empty house shower (long & hot with time for shaving, loofahs and lotions!) and a homemade iced coffee (to keep my eyes open beyond 9 PM), and may I say, the whole afternoon thinking about it…it turned out to be a great night together. I’m hoping he is at work right now with a big smile, feeling like all the man that he is to me.
