Festive Fourth Mason Jar Dessert

Hi! I’m Brittany and when I’m not helping these FAB ladies here I spend my days wrangling my children and blogging over at www.naturallyestes.com. I am SO excited to be here on Fancy Little Things, and I am SO in love with mason jars!!! Pretty sure they make EVERYTHING look cute and appealing! Ha!

With the fourth of July right around the corner I really thought it would be fun to have a little mason jar picnic in our backyard while watching the local fire works. Now instead of just sitting out on our picnic table with boring plates and cups I thought it was high time we used these CUTE mason jars.

We had seven layer dip, macaroni and cheese with hot dogs (I’m a mom to 4 kids, what else did you expect?!) and a FUN festive dessert!

With only 4 ingredients (whip cream, strawberries, blueberries, and angel food cake) and about 2 minutes of prep work; there’s no reason why anyone should miss out on this light but heavenly treat!

*rinse your fruit

*chop up your strawberries and angel food cake

*then layer your ingredients!

(whip cream, cake, whip cream, strawberries, whip cream, blueberries…repeat until full)

When I finished my mason jar, I grabbed some fun remnant US states fabric and red ribbon to embellish it with.

Picnics are SO much more fun you make them special!

And using mason jars makes things a little more exciting.

I mean when are you EVER going to have the chance to chug a jar of mac and cheese?!

Maybe I should have stopped with ONE jar?!

The food doesn’t have to be fancy, but the time together should be priceless!
