as women, we often know exactly what we want but still struggle to wholly define it. we know we want to be happy, but it may include many different details to get us there. we may want children, we may not. we may want a house, and we may want to travel the world. regardless of our desire, deep down in our bodies is a plan that is etched right into the fiber of our hearts. it was put there the moment we were knit together and remains as the guiding tension pulling us from one place to another. it’s the hole in our spirit that we struggle to fill.
we want to be happy and fulfilled and glorious right now. we do not want to experience trial and error, we want to succeed. as soon as we know there is an opportunity, we want to not only seize it, but conquer it and receive our due credit. we just don’t always want to do the work and engage in the wait.
our verse of the month speaks to this anxious feeling. it has the power to soothe our worries and calm our fears. and it has the power to teach us patience, hope and enduring faith.
The desert and the parched land will be glad;
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom;
it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.
notice the tense that the Lord uses to speak to us. look at the word repeated in each line…
will
beloved, He has promised us a land of beauty and wonder and all of His good grace.. and we WILL be there, one day. today it may not feel like we are any closer to saving our marriage, cleaning our house or even combing our hair, but in Christ we have faith that we are guided down the path towards all He has planned for us, and in this passage we have hope that we WILL be glad, blossom, bloom and rejoice. we WILL get to a place where we understand all of the wilderness we have conquered. we WILL know the magnitude of His great love from an experienced and wise heart.
do you see areas in your life where He is telling you that you soon will burst into bloom?
i encourage you to hold tightly to this verse with a truly Biblical hope, an anticipation,
that what is rightfully yours as a daughter of the King WILL come.
remember to cry out to Him as Christ did during His 40 days.
live on His Word, for it is as alive as the Spirit that lives in you.
