Spring is the time of new birth, life, and freshness.
It is a time to wash away the old and let all things become new.
Unfortunately, by the time the snow melts in my part of the world, I’m looking more like a grumpy old bear coming out of hibernation than I am a new spring chick ready to spread her wings and fly.
The only thing the grumpy bear has on me is that he’s skinny after his long winter’s nap. I, on the other hand, have been eating comfort foods for six months and I have puffiness and jiggles to prove it.
When I start hearing the birds chirp, I know it’s time to get serious about my beauty regimen.
I am ready for something new.
Five Beauty Products for Spring
I truly believe a fresh look begins with good skin. You can buy the most expensive makeup on the market, but if your ‘pallet’ isn’t prepped, your face painting may look a little more like abstract art than you want.
These five products focus on giving you healthy skin and a fresh glow.
1. EOS Lip Balm
I am a self-proclaimed lip balm addict, and I haven’t found a twelve step group to help me kick this addiction.
I was a loyal Burt’s Bees advocate until I finally tried EOS Lip Balm and I love this stuff. I don’t really want you to know just how excited I get over this little egg-like balm, but it is wonderful. It smells good, feels good, and tastes good (not that I make a habit of eating lip balm or anything).
EOS Lip Balm – 100% Natural, 95% Organic
I recommend the flavor, Summer Fruit.
2. EOS Hand Lotion
EOS hand lotion is light, non-greasy, and smells like summer.
To me it smells like a mixture of cucumbers and melon and it’s not overwhelming, so you won’t be mistaken for a fruit salad.
3. White Eye Liner
I’m not going to give you a specific brand for this. Buy what you can afford.
White eyeliner is like a nap in a stick.
I put some on my inner lower lid, on the inside corner of my eye, and sometimes I even put a line directly on top of my eyeliner (top lid). It’s amazing how much a little line of white really brightens up my face. I look refreshed and rested, perfect for spring.
4. Maybelline’s BB Cream
BB Cream is all the rage, I know.
I finally had a coupon and picked up a tube of Maybelline’s BB Cream last week. I was skeptical, because I’m not a fan of foundation, but I am now in love with BB Cream. It’s light, moisturizing, and it has sunscreen.
I suspect it will be perfect for spring and summer when I don’t want anything too heavy on my face.
5. MAC Strobe Cream
My favorite product is MAC Strobe Cream.
It is expensive, but one bottle will last me an entire year.
I use Strobe Cream after my skin absorbs my regular moisturizer and before I use foundation or BB Cream.
Strobe Cream is a light moisturizer filled with glowing beads of freshness. When I put it on, my face immediately feels alive. I even think it reduces puffiness around my eyes, but don’t quote me on that. It may just be the spectacular affect it has on my mind.
Strobe Cream gives you that dewy youthful completion we all desire.
This spring, enjoy the flowers blooming, the birds chirping, and the new life being born all around you. Then take some time to renew your skin and give yourself that well-rested, fresh spring look.
These five beauty products will help get you ready for spring!
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products or if you’re putting them on your wish list.
