Everywhere we look, there are reminders that we aren’t “enough” in society. Magazine covers constantly showing us the latest fitness crazy, makeup tip, or health food that you didn’t know about. We aren’t thin enough. We don’t eat healthy enough. Our bodies don’t bounce back after childbirth fast enough.
We aren’t enough.
Let’s take celebrities for instance, and their glossy magazine covers. What you see is NOT what you get.
Behind the lens, Faith Hill isn’t perfect– no celebrity is as their covers are constantly being photoshopped to hide all flaws. And honestly, what is wrong with the photo on the left? NOTHING! Faith Hill is gorgeous AS IS, but they removed the bags under her eyes, slimmed her “back fat” under her arm where her dress is, and that isn’t even her arm. Oh, and they completely removed any wrinkle by her eyes.
Disturbing, isn’t it?
Isn’t it comforting to know that behind God’s lens we ARE perfect? HE created us in HIS image, and HE thinks we are perfect no matter what!
He sees what we don’t!
We are called by Him to treat our bodies as a temple for the Holy Spirit–and rather than have the mindset that we aren’t enough, why not be reminded that we ARE enough for HIM?
I encourage you to share this image–be a light to others who need to know that God thinks they are perfect just as they are.
