Ladies, let’s face it. We all want to look somewhat cute when we workout. And to be truthful, we don’t have to be frumpy to be modest. Another truth though is that workout clothes can sometimes not be glorifying to the temples are bodies are.
So how do we dress modestly, comfortable, but still cute without just wearing yoga pants and a baggy t-shirt???
Here’s how…
1. Color.
Don’t fear color! Neons are HUGE right now! Love them. Start small, maybe just an undertank for a pop of color or perhaps a neon workout shoe 🙂
2. Layer it up.
I loathe wearing short shorts alone. So what do I do? I typically pair them with tights underneath. Wear a t-shirt under a tank. find what works for you and keeps you comfortable.
3. Baggy and skin tight are two very different extremes.
Workout clothes don’t have to be either. Find a top that is still loose so it moves with you, but not so tight that it’s competing with an 19th-century girdle and highlights every aspect of your body.
As we move towards being healthier, it is tempting to show off more and more of our bodies. Our confidence is growing. We feel as though we can wear items we never could before. Regardless of where you were before, would Jesus appreciate them at any weight, any amount of muscle? Our bodies are treasures.
Treasures for our husband’s (or future husband’s) eyes only. Also think about the other ladies in the room or outside with you. Have you ever looked at a woman and become envious of her body because of how clothes hung on her? Be proud, don’t cower and think you have to shroud yourself in baggy clothing. Just be aware. We are beautiful women on God, reflecting Him not just in the pew of church, the grocery store line, but also the treadmill.
So here are some great pieces you can use in your workout wardrobe that will make it fun:
