a cozy place. to sit and think.
to rest my feet while digging into a new website design.
the right lighting to jot ideas in my “big idea journal” for safe keeping. watercolors abound.
a minimalist approach to living.
the more you have. the more that owns you.
each item in my home is intentional. intentionally placed in its spot. right where it should be.
why did it take so long to find my favorite living room color scheme? it speaks to me.
coral & teal & navy blue provide a soothing palette of inspiration amidst the mostly cream colored home that i rent.

this is perhaps the place i spend the most time. nestled on the couch with children reading books. with my reliable laptop working feverishly. with Pandora pouring out melodies as the clock passes through past midnight.
yes, i’m definitely bragging about the steal i found on this lamp. truly. amazing. truly. i can actually SEE what i’m doing without a glaring overhead lamp made from flourescent nonsense.
i’m thinking a simple DIY of the lampshade using some textured fabric. or maybe i’ll just leave it plain. or maybe wrap it in a map.
jotting ideas down in my “big idea journal” next!
stunning. right? i love the colors in this room and will continue to add flourishes of lovely color and elegant, comfortable beach-style until we move again!
a small collection of clear bottles filled with desk accessories. my vintage letter “a” wooden stamp, thumbtacks, a simple & beautiful orchid that i have successfully kept through this second blooming (this is a rarity) + my other new lamp. seriously. why did i take so long to choose new lamps?
DIY art gallery / table lamp from Lamps Plus / laptop by Dell; yes, i’m a PC.
the best thing about boxes arriving from online shopping? this face full of batman-finesse.

I love your “space”! It looks so cozy and warm! The lamps are gorgeous! I also really like the DIY art gallery in your office space. Thanks for sharing! Kristin
Aimee, I love getting glimpses into your home: it’s lovely! The style seems to reflect your personality well. Thanks for sharing :-).
My absolute favorite piece is Batman ๐ I have a little guy who has a “motorhome” in his room right now. It is about 4 boxes taped together and windows cut out. Hours and hours of playtime fun. Oh yeah, your house is beautiful too ๐
Love your coastal vibe AND your new lamps! Yay for the right lighting!

PS — Batman rocks. ๐
Love the idea of a resting place. Love those colors in your living room. I especially love the wire hanger in your office. I recently took down all the shelving above my desk and moved it into an unused closet in here. Been brain storming about how to hang my ideas and such. Love the little wire strung with mini clips idea!
