it’s time for visitors to stop by. for friends to come on a weekend trip. for your best girlfriend to stay the night and grab as much quality time as you can. as an adult (yes, i’m 30 now!) with small children, it’s important for me to show my love, attention and hospitality to those visiting us.
i give our guests my cozy bedroom and bath. fresh sheets. cut flowers. towels ready. stocked shower. & a guest crate full of my (& some of their) favorite things.
it started with a few short texts…
“citrus or chocolate?”
“bubbly or filtered?”
“pillow topped or firm mattress?”
… in addition to the many things i already know about my sweet friend visiting, i began compiling a crate full of some of her favorite things to help her enjoy her stay here in Southern California for a long weekend.
it’s the little things… placed inside a to tidy their things while visiting.
i love using my pretty packaging to beautify the crate — lots of grays; twine, paper envelopes and a green hand towel!
eileen fisher linen bag / mountain valley sparkling water / justin’s peanut bars / mason jar mug from World Market / straws & lids from we love citrus
face care by say yes to carrots / facial scrub by urban city organics
some other items to add: toothbrush, toothpaste, travel bandaid kit, home-baked cookies
so, it’s time to ask your friends some interesting questions and then start prepping their DIY Guest Crate.
