Kids in the Kitchen: Pudding Pie

Hello lovelies!

I’m so excited to be here today posting at Fancy Little Things for the first time! I know that we have readers in all sorts of life stages, but today I’m specifically sharing something for those of you with little ones in your lives. No kids of your own? No worries…this will make you the best Auntie EVER!

I love getting my 4 year old daughter involved in the kitchen. She loves to be a helper, and loves to be independent, so this time is great for her. Today I’m going to share one of our favorite easy desserts.

Pudding Pie! Is it fancy? Nope. Is it yummy? Sure is!

Here’s what you need:

1 sleeve of graham crackers (usually 9 crackers)

1 box instant pudding

2 C milk

6 T butter

Start by breaking up your graham crackers and tossing them into the food processor.

Warning: Children should always be observed when working with kitchen tools, especially those that have blades.

Mix it up!

Grab a snack…this is hard work!

Ta-Da!

Melt your butter and mix it with your crumbs until it looks something like this. If your butter is still hot, make sure this is a grown-up job.

Pat it down to make your crust.

Make sure it comes up the sides a bit, too!

Side note: You could totally use a pre-made graham cracker crust, it just takes out a fun part of the cooking process. Do what works for you!

Now, get going on that pudding!

Mix it all together.

Stir it up! Grown-ups, you may want to jump in here for a little bit to make sure the pudding is mixed well.

Into the crust it goes!

Ready to go in the fridge!

Enjoy!

My favorite part about this dessert? You can put it together after dinner, throw the kids in the tub, and still have dessert before bed time! Love it. It also give kids something to be proud of as they serve it to their family.
