Welcome to the third installment of my Adventures in Photography series! {Catch Part 1 and Part 2 here!) Today, I want to talk to you about embracing imperfection when it comes to taking photos. Beautiful photos are attainable, but honestly? Not all the time. It isn’t worth stressing about! Getting the perfect photo won’t always happen… so embrace imperfection, and keep in mind the memories you are capturing.
Take this photo for instance. Is it cute? Yes! Does it portray what I was wanting to capture? Yes! Is it perfect? Umm no. Not even close. Brayden is totally out of focus and the photo isn’t centered well. But hey, it preserves the memory of him learning how to swing– so not a total failure.
While this isn’t a bad photo by any means, it could have been better had I gotten closer to Kenley’s perspective. Even still, it captures her excitement of running out to play with Daddy and Brayden.
The biggest lesson here is that if you wait for the perfect photo opportunity? You just might miss the moment you are trying to capture.
