i love hosting parties. lots of them…
i’ll come up with a reason just to get a group of friends together for some memory creating, hours of laughing & a chance to make sweet little gift bags to go home with each guest. i’m a passionate DIY’er and i love to come up with a theme, a style, and color scheme paired with lovely patterns! i love the details & dream for days beforehand about all of the little projects i can do to make the experience more lovely.
with Spring here… and practically summer arriving any day, it’s time for YOU to host a sweet little party and i’m going to offer you some quick tips to make that happen!
ready to host your very own DIY party?
OUR THEME: fun, fancy & relaxing…
STEP #1: INVITE
grab a notepad and start jotting down some close friends that you’d like to spend an afternoon with… and then invite them! skip the phone + email and send a sweet little invite:
add some cut paper and a little sewing machine action for a lovely little DIY card or a sweet little card for your friend to enjoy a balloon when they open their invite. details here.
STEP #2: plan your menu
for brunch: a simple breakfast bread, fresh fruit, some bacon (don’t forget, you can bake it to avoid the splattering mess – details here), fresh squeezed OJ, coffee… and maybe a signature mimosa or a cranberry spritzer:
STEP #3: decorate!
simple. keep it simple. i adore this kraft paper with white marker table display. simple white dishes, sprigs of greenery, tea bags, lovely little designs swirled around the table… you can buy an ENTIRE roll of kraft paper for less than $10 at Lowe’s…. hours & hours of paper fun (just ask my kids!).
thanks to MINO paper sweets for this adorable display.
STEP #4: create sweet gift bags
this is one of my FAVORITE {squeal!} parts of putting together a little party. i adore my friends and i want them to have lovely little bags to open full of some of my favorite things… i always include a package of my favorite note cards from Pen & Paint, a package of baker’s twine, some little candies from a local shop… or just a nice big bundle of fresh local flowers wrapped up in some of the kraft paper you bought by the 100 feet! 🙂
photo is from a lovely party from a Style Me Pretty feature.
go ahead… share this post on your favorite social media outlet and let your friends know — “I’m Hosting a Party… who wants to come?!” then you’re committed and your friends are going to be so excited to attend! put together your list, make sweet little invites and begin dreaming and planning.
