last weekend i attended a gorgeous wedding in Columbus, Ohio. the week that led up to the wedding had me in a near panic attack thinking about what to wear. i tried to reason with myself over this “black dress faux pas” that black could not be worn to a wedding; especially to a wedding where i knew very few people and was certain i would send the wrong message.
i ended up settling for this polka dotted stunner to which i received several compliments (& yes, i was the only one in attendance wearing polka dots):

my struggle to wear black ended swiftly when i arrived at the church to find that more than a dozen women were donning their LBD (little black dress) with stunning jewelry, bright colored handbags & heels and gorgeous hair.
so today, i am here to help you… as you begin to prepare for weddings & events galore…
i’ll spend the next few days offering some great ideas to encourage you to pull out your go-to classic, slenderizing, familiar LBD from your closet and have it socially ready for the summer!
the invitation design should represent the type of wedding you’ve been invited to attend. there are fun, relaxed weddings, elegant weddings, modern weddings, barn-style country weddings & when you don’t know… we’ll go for a classic look that will make a stunning option every time!
today we’ll tackle:
I found a very simple Anthropolgie cotton dress… one that most of us might have in our closets and have paired it with some luxe items to dress up the simplicity & comfort of the dress!
HAIR: pull it up & pin it! a simple up-do is elegant and classy
JEWELRY: a large stone or pearl necklace
SHOES: tall metallic heels (or wedges if you’re looking for a bit more comfort!)
BELT: thick shiny metallic belt to pull the look together
