Today we’re going to be using basic scrap-booking materials & a $1.00 photo album (buy at: Walmart & Target) to create custom photo books for your kids {or for yourself, or a birthday party, special event & anything else you can think of!}. Photo books typically start around $12.99 + shipping & handling. For just a few dollars and 30 minutes – you can create your very own!!
I made one for my sweet boy Jack when he was about 18months old – we added photos of his aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, our family, friends and special places we had visited. This was (& still is) his FAVORITE book! Abigail is now 17 months and loves “borrowing” Jack’s photo book – so, here we are, creating 2 more books to be filled with photos, memories and special Bible verses —-> made with love, by me.
List of Materials:
- 1 or more plastic 4 x 6 photobooks from Target or Walmart
- your cover photo & more for inside
- scrap-booking paper or cardstock
- letter stickers, fun stickers or other adhesive doo-dads!
Step 1: Take the cardboard sleeves out of the inside of the 4×6 photo book
Step 2: Select scrap-book supplies such as stickers, letters, the photo you would like to “scrap-book” on the front of the photo book as well as a solid & a print paper.
Step 3: Using the original cover as a template, trim your patterned page down to size and trim your photo to size. Add a second layer of patterned or solid paper.
Step 4: Add your child’s name or “Memory Book”, “Family” or “Happy 1st Birthday” —> have fun with this!!
Step 5: Add some little stickers or other adhesive details {buttons, labels, magazine cut-outs, words…}
Step 6: Don’t forget the back — I just used the same patterned paper to cover the back photo book page and added a little decor sticker to accessorize!!
Thanks for stopping by again. What did you think? Pretty easy tutorial for a fun photo book? Please link your comment to your Scrap-booked photo book blog post.
