Projects on mind and some of the inspiration behind them…
1. Jazz up the Kitchen
Thrifty Decor Chick’s Kitchen Island
While reading about Sarah’s kitchen redo, I could not help but get all jazzed up by her kitchen island. Both of us had the standard builder grade island’s that could use a little pizazz. I loved her use of bead board, corbels, trim, a butcher block counter top, and a little paint to give the island a much more customized look. What a change it made in her kitchen! To see the before and afters go to Thirfty Decor Chick! So far we have added bead board to ours and my husband is in the process of MAKING a butcher block counter top! That’s right I said he is making it. He is AMAZING! There will be before and afters as well as more details about the process to come!
Also, want to move towards an old farm table look with more seating, possibly a bench, but most definitely mis-matchy chairs. Something like….
From the White Flower Farmhouse
From Louden Furniture
From Dreamy Whites
2. Recover my recently purchased, new to me Office chair
A cover like this one
Or
Simply recovered in a fabric similar to this
Both the cover and fabric from Pottery Barn
3. Update the decor and make our master Bedroom a haven
Some sort of white, textured bedding to go with my blue paisley duvet to give this feel
And two inexpensive chairs that I can slip cover to look similar to this style
Bedding and chair from Pottery Barn
Or
From Life in the Fun Lane
4. Laundry room redo
Customized shelves, storage, a counter for folding, and bins for the dirty clothes
