One of my favorite things about living in Michigan is dressing for each season. I try my best to use the same clothes with different accessories, layers & shoes.
Two years ago, I picked up an adorable black & white polka dot Old Navy blouse from my fave local consignment store.
Cost: $6.95.
That Fall, I wore it belted with a brown belt, jeans + matching brown rider boots.
Later that winter, I wore it with my fave Jessica Simpson wide leg trousers + a giant red belt. Unfortunately, I don’t have pictures of those two super cute looks. Boo!
Here’s a few ideas for how you can take one blouse and add a bit’o’variety…
In the Spring, I paired the shirt with red pants (thrifted) + a black Lauren Condrad for Kohl’s blazer + a chunky necklace.
In the Summer, I paired the shirt with coral capri’s (thrifted) + a chunky silver belt + silver flats.
In the Fall, I paired the shirt with Forever 21 wide-leg dress pants + heels + chunky black belt + my fave pink scarf (T.J.Maxx).
This Winter, I paired the shirt with my Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s blazer, black skinnies + black riding boots.
All in all, I’ve gotten about 7 looks out of this one shirt!
The key to mixing & matching your wardrobe is trial & error. Find one quality piece & keep adding.
Yeah, it takes a little bit of extra time to try on one shirt with several bottoms or necklaces, but once you find a look you feel fabulous in, it’s totally worth it.
So. Tell me, what piece of your wardrobe have you been the most creative with?
