hi.
april has arrived. and so has feverish spring cleaning. with several boxes, bags and bins packed full of items from our life that are no longer a necessity; we quickly return to our minimalist roots. eager to let shelves breath with white space, empty space for color to invade.
my lowly work space got attacked last. with gentle hesitation i unpinned my massive cork board that held all the pieces needed to daily inspire my design. i welcomed the big plain wall for about 3 days when i sat flipping through recent blog posts and remembered this lovely gallery image.
time to recreate. select my favorites and allow them to inspire for a bit.
this is the most simple and lovely decor i have ever housed directly in front of my desk. you can’t buy this at the “office section” of any major shopping outlet. the tools are simple. the concept is simple. the impact is powerful.
are you eager?
just a bit of twine, hammer/nails, clips of any shape size (i love these bright silver binder clips from Staples)
simple instructions: measure out your width / tap a small nail into the wall / add a traditional loop knot around the nail with the twine / measure the distance and keep the twine very tight / tap another nail, tie another know / hang sweetness
i keep unique glass jars fill of tacks & clips next to my typewriter “a”; chevron cards & hello notecards.
my amazing son made me a poppy for mother’s day last year and i cannot imagine my workspace without it’s bloom.
colorful quote print by the darling Lindsay from Pen & Paint.
ahoy print hangs here in plastic so i can enjoy while waiting for the perfect location to open up (& arrow print in the gallery) & extremely inspiring notecard from ARMOMMY.
who’s ready to clear their workspace and hang a simple baker’s twine string and clip up some inspiration? i just wonder what room in the house is going to be taken over my a simple gallery wall!!
