As it seems with any good adventure, our “Summer of Adventure” here at Fancy Little Things must come to an end. And boy, did we have some adventures!! It was a great theme for us to embrace these last few months as it seemed all our lives were filled to the brim with wonderful trips, time with friends & family, sunshine and beaches and barbeques. We welcomed new babies and news of new pregnancies. And with all the good, we also found we were praying our FLT family through some harder things, offering grace as the pace and heat of summer exhausted us, and learning to let go and try to enjoy this God-given adventure we call “life”.
Now the nights are cooler.
The days are shorter.
The kiddos are heading back to school.
And as much as we loved our adventures, we are yearning for the calmer routines of Fall.
Isn’t it beautiful how our world and our lives have seasons?
We long for summer and relish every moment of it, but it has it’s time. It’s place. Let’s face it. It would be hard to live out summer for twelve months a year.
So, first we need a break. We need to fill book bags with new school supplies and dress kids in new sneakers and send them off with prayerful hearts as their next season awaits. We need to add new graphics, make new changes and prepare FLT for the season ahead.
Then we need some FOCUS. Our new theme for the Fall quarter. Yes, for the quarter. A new change for us is to embrace new themes every 3 months instead of every month.
Our theme verse for this quarter is Hebrews 12:1-2.
“…let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”
Because really, if our focus is on Him, all else blurs away. The important things, those with eternal value, become very clear. All of life comes into FOCUS.
Looking for some FOCUS? Come follow us as we fix our eyes on Him!
See you next Monday!
