i love anchors. like —>> totally. completely. in love with anchors.
step 1 >> print out an outlined shape… in my case, an anchor! staple around the edges to a piece of thin foam board. i purchased a large piece of thin foam board at JoAnn’s in the kid craft section for less than $1. i can make about 10-15 stamps from one piece!
step 2 >> cut the shape out and glue to a piece of wood or a wooden block
step 3 >> stamp away.
i LOVE how it turned out. i have a few more stampin’ projects coming up!
now to finish a batch of bow cuffs tonight + hang a few more earrings and add an adorable tag or stamped box to our packages.
what kind of stamp are you going to make?
oh yes… i wanted to show you my sweet polka dots & stripes today — what do you think?

I was sitting here checking out diy stamps on pinterest when I saw your tweet come across. Love this! I’m so impressed you cut out that anchor so precisely. Such a cute stamp! Love the polka dots too!
you are too sweet. yes, i use titanium scissors for cutting – probably has something to do with it. i like how un-perfect these stamps turn out — makes them a little more whimsy & handmade looking! so glad you stopped by!
Aimee these are great! Stamps are so expensive, and this makes an affordable option! Think I’ll make an “H” for our last name. Thanks for sharing!

Great project!
What a cute idea! I have been searching for ways to make a handmade stamp and this would be perfect for my project!
Thank you Chrissy! We are having a blast making stamps over here!!
Oh what a great idea! I made my own stamp as well, but I cut it back from an eraser and it was quite a time-consuming way of doing it and didn’t end up as accurate as I would have liked. I’ll definitely try this way next time.
By the way, I love anchors too. There’s something about that great combo of 1950s chic together with nautical references that is really appealing…
Love the idea! I have tried some different diy stamps and I will absolutely have a go with this one as well.
you should! it’s cheap + fun + easy!!! let me know what you make!
