Hey there, friends!
So, here is my dilemma. I like dressing up for Halloween, given the chance. I think it’s fun! However, I don’t really have the budget to go out and put together a costume. Even a trip to Goodwill can break the bank, depending on what you want to do, and why spend money on something you’re going to wear once anyway?
So I went on a mission. I wanted to put together simple, fun costumes that can be pulled out of just about anyone’s closet. These use common pieces, and I bet you have at least 2 of them ready to go right now!
1. Librarian
What you need:
- pencil skirt
- oxford style shirt
- crew neck cardigan
- black flats
- book bag (I love this one! I need it in my life!)
- glasses
2. Fortune Teller
What you need:
- maxi skirt
- colored tank (jewel tones are good!)
- scarf
- hoop/dangly earings
- bangles
- sandals
3. Lumberjack
What you need:
- jeans (boyfriend style would be perfect!)
- flannel/plaid shirt
- winter hat
- chunky belt
- boots
4. Mime/Gondolier (It really could be either!)
What you need:
- black and white striped shirt
- black pants
- black flats
- red scarf
5. Rosie the Riveter
What you need:
- jeans
- chambray shirt
- red bandana
- flat sneakers or boots
6. Minnie Mouse
What you need:
- red dress
- black pumps
- Minnie ears/red bow headband (you could easily add ears to an existing bow!)
There you have it. Six costumes just waiting for you in your closet! Have fun and go play dressup!
